THE SESSIONS

In an average HEALING TOUCH energy balancing session we first chat a bit about what is presently going on with the client and what he/she might like to intend for the session. The client is fully clothed with shoes off lying on the table either on their back or stomach. Working with light touch on and off the body within the energy field, I use my hands to influence the subtle body, bringing balance and harmony to the whole mind/body/spirit system. Some people experience visions, some fall asleep, some people like to talk during the session, discussing their experiences and whatever comes up, all in all, most people leave feeling more relaxed and rested, clear, balanced, grounded and usually have achieved some degree of physical and/or emotional relief from whatever is ailing them.

All kinds of people are gravitating to this work for reasons from spiritual attuning to social/emotional/relationship concerns to chronic physical issues.  However, most conditions take years to develop and therefore, will usually not completely dissolve overnight. As with most therapies, a series of treatments is usually recommended for sustained and long lasting relief. (For more information, see Healing Touch.)


The initial session is 90 minutes with the following sessions lasting one hour.

For THAI YOGA THERAPY, the client is also fully clothed, but dressed in comfortable, loose or stretchy clothing (anything you would wear for yoga or exercise).  After an initial discussion about the nature of the visit - this could be physical, mental, emotional or spiritual - we begin by gently working with the sip sen (10 energy lines). This might include light to medium thumb or palm pressure on points as well as rocking and/or stretching the body to clear any blockages and open the flow of energy. This in turn brings the client into harmony and balance, resulting in a optimum state of health and well being. (For more information, see Thai Yoga Therapy)


A general balancing session is 60-75 minutes. More detailed and specifically focused sessions can last from 90 minutes to 2 hours.

For PRIVATE YOGA, the 60 minute session is tailored to meet the need of the individual student, allowing for the one-on-one personal direction that is difficult to obtain within a group class. This enables the student to progress more rapidly, while focusing on specific areas in need of attention on any given point along their yogic path, including asana (yogic postures), pranayama (breathwork) and meditation.


Depending on the client, I might also prescribe breathing exercises or yoga postures to explore between sessions to bring about further balancing. Active client participation between visits is crucial to the progress of the work.
